SoLa Impact recently submitted plans to convert a 28,000-SF lot that currently houses several auto repair businesses into a mixed-income apartment building with 136 apartment units.
If approved, the six-story development project located at 3501 S. Jefferson Blvd. would feature a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments above 1,300 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and parking for 57 vehicles.
In exchange, for transit-oriented density bonuses allowing the developer to exceed zoning limitations, SoLa Impact would be required to set aside 15 of the units as affordable housing for extremely low-income households.
The project is the latest developments planned near Expo/Crenshaw Station, including Crenshaw Crossing and a 168-unit, mixed use development at a site formerly owned by West Angeles Church.
